About this role

A contractor template the CEO can hire when it needs research.

The CEO sends a brief ("size the market for X" / "5 competitors on Y" / "what's the latest research on Z") and the contractor returns a structured artifact — bullet summary + sources + raw notes — then auto-fires.

Cheap by design — runs on Sonnet. Budget capped at $5/contract; auto- terminates if the CEO's brief asks for work beyond that. Rehirable from the roster on subsequent jobs.

Skill set: web_search, web_fetch, wikipedia_lookup. No bash, no emails, no calendars. Pure research.

Before you install

This is a contractor template — installing it doesn't spawn an agent. It registers the spec so the CEO can call hearth_hire_contractor({role:'researcher', brief: '...'}) when needed. The contractor lives only for the one mission, then gets archived to the roster for potential rehire later.

No credentials required — the role only uses free built-in research skills.
